Health and Prevention Initiative “fit4future”
Since 2024, our daycare has been participating in the health and prevention initiative “fit4future” by DAK-Gesundheit and the fit4future foundation. The program supports us in helping children develop awareness early on for a healthy and mindful lifestyle.
The focus is on practical, everyday ideas to promote physical activity, balanced nutrition, mental health, and cognitive fitness, as well as age-appropriate use of digital media. The materials are complemented by accompanying training opportunities that sustainably strengthen our educational work.
Daycare Language Support in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Since 2023, our center has been part of the state program for daycare language support in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The program builds on the nationwide initiative “Language Daycares: Because language is the key to the world”, in which we participated from 2017 to 2022.
Participation specifically strengthens language education integrated into everyday routines. Language is understood as a central component of relationships, learning, and participation, and is continually addressed throughout daily daycare life.
“Carusos” Certificate from the German Choral Association
For our work in the area of early music education, we were awarded the “Carusos” certificate by the German Choral Association in 2017. Recertification took place in 2021 and 2025.
The “Carusos” initiative supports daycare centers in firmly anchoring group singing in everyday life. The certificate is awarded to centers that meet certain quality criteria, such as daily singing, a child-friendly vocal range, and a diverse, age-appropriate repertoire of songs.
Quality Seal “Buchkita”
In 2025, the health daycare “Sonnenblume” was awarded the “Buchkita” quality seal by the German Publishers and Booksellers Association (Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels) and the German Library Association (Deutscher Bibliotheksverband) for its commitment to early childhood reading promotion.
The quality seal honors centers where early experiences with storytelling, rhyming, reading, and engaging with books have a firmly established place in everyday educational practice. Regular read-aloud sessions, a wide range of books, age-appropriate media education, and connections to places of reading such as libraries or bookstores are central to this.
Our daycare impressed with a holistic reading-promotion concept that includes (read-)aloud activities, book projects, library visits, and lending options for books. Collaboration with external partners complements this offering and makes literature come alive for the children.
